About us

Perspective Trust (we are also known as ‘KPT’ or just ‘Perspective’) is a Christian youth work organisation that is involved with secondary schools and youth groups across Kettering & Corby, Northants. We at Perspective believe that life as an adolescent can be pretty tough sometimes, and we want to help young people with their transition from childhood to adulthood in all aspects of their lives. We also understand that working with young people can be as hard as it is rewarding and want to support and complement the great work that is going on in the schools and youth groups of Kettering. Please have a look around our site to see what we do and how we do it. If you would like any more information about us or would like to find out how we can work with your school or youth group please contact us.

Additionally, we are always looking for funding support to finance our work, so if you feel that you can support us in that way then please visit the Support us page to find out more. Thank you! All our workers have had an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.

Youth Chaplaincy Launched in Corby

Local youth charity, Perspective Trust, has launched a new project in partnership with the Corby Community Safety Partnership and the Kingwood Secondary Academy. By training volunteers from local churches as Youth Chaplains, the project aims to make the school gate and surrounding vicinity a safer place for students. Whilst there are obvious health and environmental advantages of walking to and from school, some parents and students remain anxious about the journey. Youth Chaplaincy sees a team of recognisable adults, patrolling the school gate and walking the popular routes, prepared to help students keep safe. Currently Youth Chaplaincy is being piloted on a Friday afternoon, but by recruiting more volunteers the project is keen to expand to other days.

Scott Hudson, Principal of the Kingwood Secondary Academy, explains: “The Youth Chaplains initiative Through Perspective Trust has had major benefits for the Kingwood Secondary Academy… We are very grateful that we were approached to get involved in this work and to the individual chaplains who give up their time every Friday to support out pupils. I know that many of our pupils actively involved themselves in talking to the chaplains and are appreciative of their efforts.” The Revd. Paul Frost, local vicar and volunteer youth chaplain, states: “Corby churches are full of people who want to make a positive difference in our town and this is yet another example of Christians getting stuck in. With schools being under increased pressure, I’m delighted that Youth Chaplaincy can help.”

Perspective Trust a local outreach charity worked with our Year 9 students to explore issues surrounding war. The project was part of the Belief, Philosophy and Ethics curriculum and tied in with recent Remembrance Day commemorations. Paul Frost and Faye Harris of Perspective Trust gave a number of talks throughout the week about the impact and legacy of war.

He said: ‘We were helping with the BPE lessons on war and peace and tying it in Remembrance and exploring how Christians respond to the reality of war in our world. We spent a fair bit of time talking about what the effects of war are and the impact it makes on a personal and larger scale. We watched film footage with the family of James Ashworth VC looking at the effect a death has on a family and community
